Culture of Bhutan; DANGER
It is perception of individual as culture of Bhutan been strongly valued in 1760s to 1980s but with rapid development of country pros and cons are taking place. Once up time, when I was child/student, I found many Bhutanese with National dress visiting holy places, with beautiful patterns of woman and men dresses. True Bhutanese people were seen everywhere be it town, offices, public gathering and other institutions but where they gone in 21st century? There are more than 700,000 population in the country but few are seen, they are students in the school, officials in the office and rest all are foreigners/western people.
There are hundreds of holy places in Bhutan, I happened to visit few spiritual places, Bhutanese are religious minded, they spent holidays by visiting holy places offering butter lamp, praying for good luck and for all living sentiments. It is good attitude of Bhutanese people but sad part is that they never wear Bhutanese national dress. Whose responsible is that? How can we preserve our culture? Is not in danger? We should think before it is too late, I think it is our responsible to promote, preserve
and to educate our young citizens. Nobody can help us to promote. The simple things we can do is wear dress where ever we go, use our language, bow and respect and not only that teach our children the essence of our culture.
Be Bhutanese in mind, attitude, value culture and think positively toward culture, preservation of culture is only the tools to defend of enemies. our country is located between two huge countries with high population in the world. Both countries equipped with nuclear weapons and well trained arm forces, the diplomatic relation between two giant countries that much sound. To defend ourselves is only to preserve culture and tradition that handed by our fore fathers; The Kings
